A lush retreat

Our "garden balcony" has become somewhat of a retreat now that the the relentless heat has subsided.

Before, it was a grotesque display of our air condenser and dirty glass-paned railings, all overlooking a giant clay hill.  We have since done our best with plant stands and new additions to make it more usable.  It is still no where close to ideal, but it's a great place for morning coffee and enjoying the fresh air (and occasionally a passing ambulance).

The Gnome is a regular out there!

It is also home to a variety of plants.  Most of these are hand me down plants from different family members.  Currently residing are geraniums, climbing mandevilla, bromeliads, succulents, oregano, basil, chocolate mint, and our living Christmas tree.  Sometimes the orchid that I'm potentially killing gets a turn out there.  It's nothing big, grand, or planned, but it's something, and for now, that will do.

The view isn't great, but it's not awful either.  As long as you don't look at the highway.  Plus, the kitty enjoys her time out there.  She also likes meddling with my photo subjects.

Bad kitty.
